📄 Safety stock

Safety stock

Safety stock / Stock de sécurité / Veiligheidsvoorraad / Sicherheitsbestand

This is the guideline to work with the safety stock in ePack, please read this manual first before you enter numbers in the field 'Safety stock' in 'Enter specifications'.

If you want to use the safety stock, the system ensures that when you enter an order in ePack and the 'free stock' drops below the numbers indicated, one or more production lines (depending on what you have entered in the minimum production run) are created on machine A to be planned in.

For example:

2006 : TESTSPEC

1500 pal in stock  and 1500 pal of free stock

Minimum prod run: 3

Safety stock : 2  = 2 trucks PL indicated as 600 per truck= safety stock of 1200 pal

We will now enter an order in the system for this spec and ensure our free stock drops bellow 1200 pal. The safety stock does it's work and adds the necessarry lines automatically in the planning of machine A.

You can see:

Stock : 1500 pal in stock because you have not delivered yet

Res : 600 pal reserved = Because of our order

Prod : 1800 pal in production = 3 lines of 600 because of our cycle of 3

VK Prod : 0 because there is no order linked to the production line (there is enough stock)

Libre : 900 pal free stock of the 1500 – 600 in order

Dans le planning vous voyez les 3 lignes à planifier pour garder votre stock à jour

Maintenant, nous allons saisir 3 commandes supplémentaires pour passer sous notre stock libre.

Conclusion :

Stock : 1500 pal in stock remains the same because you have not delivered yet

Res : 1500 pal = theoretically there are 2400 pal, but you can have no more reserved then in stock so 1500.

Prod : 3300 pal in production = 5 lines of 600 and 1 line of 300

Explication :

3 lines already in production of our safety stock + 3 orders extra = 6 lignes

=> 1500 – 600 (first order 20/2/2020) = 900 in stock

=> 900 – 600 (second order 21/2/2020) = 300 in stock

=> 300 – 600 (third order 25/2/2020) = 300 short in stock to deliver= date next to the line

=> -300 – 600 (fourth order 27/2/2020) = 600 short in stock to deliver = date next to the line

VK Prod : 900 because you are missing 900 pallets to deliver all orders parce que vous avez 900 palettes trop peu pour pouvoir livrer toutes vos commandes

Libre : 0 = no free stock anymore(1500 – 2400 = -900)

So, if you have lines in the planning for this spec, the safety stock can drop bellow the declared value, but if all you production lines are produced and you drop with the safety stock bellow this number, the system recreates lines.
